Okay, Fin to Baby Dr. Sheldon Cooper

So...yeah, Amy and Michael decided that since I mentioned that Fin reminds me of Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, that Sheldon is his name now and I am to market appropriately, lol.
I have to admit that this sweet little guy is a near doppelganger baby for Big Bang's Jim Parsons. But I really liked 'Fin'!! Oh well, I am still in love with this tiny creation.

I can't walk past the babies' crib and not stop to cuddle him. I really am excited to start rooting him. I just received his mohair today. But, that will have to wait, as I am rooting my East Indian baby first. On another note, I am so excited about his pacifiers! These Dr. Browns paci's are so spot on with his little outfit I can hardly stand the cuteness! The nibble design is pretty cool, but I won't be using that, lol.

"Tessa" by Didy Jacobsen & "Faith" by Heather Boneham

Almost done.
I have had such fun bringing these cuties to life! Especially little Fin. His sweet face and elegantly long fingers and toes are to die for! I ordered their hair this morning and am working on the finishing details, realistic brows, some capillaries, textured lips and the like. I decided to not immediately order hair until now because I feel that the paints, even though heat set and permanent, need a couple of days to cure. This will give it time to just get a little stronger on the vinyl.

They both have opened noses and the brows are slightly textured. I am still working on adding more texture the them and also the little noses and eyes with a 3D illuminating effect. I am quite pleased with them. Can't wait to finish these little beauties.

Faith to Finn and Tessa

This week I am working on two really cute sculpts that I am really enjoying.
Faith by Heather Boneham and Tessa by Diddy Jacobson.
Immediately after I received Faith a couple of weeks ago, I looked at her and thought, "I see a little baby boy". I thought that after painting began I would change my mind. But that is not the case, I still see a sound sleeping tiny newborn boy. So I decided that he needed a delicate boy name for such delicate features and have decided on 'Finn' or 'Fin', which I haven't really decided.

I'm working on his layers at the moment, baking and blushing. I love how tiny he is!
Also adding extra depth layers to Tessa, which I will find a new name for her soon. She will be my ethnic North East Asian Mongolian inspired baby.

Since Mongolia is the land between China and Russia I am thinking of grey eyes with light brown mohair and the Asian olive complexion with those wind blushed cheeks.
Sorta like this.

It was those cheeks. So cute. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
I just shipped off my last baby, little Molly to her mom in Maryland and forgot to include my new business cards that just came in. Oh well, next time.

I'm really happy with them. One reason I will always use Vista Print. I really like their designs, even for their free cards.

Simplicity Pattern Mini Haul

So today I was picking up some Velcro at Hancock Fabrics for a baby dress for the last reborn that I completed, the preemie Stephanie Sullivan sculpt, and it just so happened that the Simplicity Patterns where on sale! I decided not to go overboard but to just pick out three or four that I really thought I could complete in a timely manner, say under a few days.
I decided on four really cute patterns:
1429

4192

1804

2246

Each pattern envelope had at least one thing that I really liked. And I was interested in doing a couple of knit pieces, which I am not an expert at.
The first pattern 1429 that I purchased is the skirt that I was most interested in. The long skirt didn't look dowdy on the model and I think that for a plus size girl like me it would work really well. I came home and thought, "Great! I'll look up other completed projects to see how it turned out."
But to no avail, google search produced no results. The other patterns were easy to find completed projects and so I think that 1429 will by the first project for me to do and maybe do a blog and video review on the end result and process.
I love the fact that each pattern doesn't require a huge list of notions to complete. I think that I am getting tired of that with all the baby and doll clothes that I have worked on lately. So once I wrap up my project for the preemie, I think that I will go back to HF and get the perfect fabric that I spied for this skirt.
